Target Information

Rat Interleukin12α (IL12A) is a critical subunit of the IL-12 cytokine, which is essential for regulating immune responses. IL-12 is a heterodimer composed of IL-12α (p35) and IL-12β (p40) subunits. This cytokine is primarily produced by antigen-presenting cells such as macrophages and dendritic cells. IL-12α plays a key role in promoting the differentiation of naive T cells into Th1 cells, which are vital for cell-mediated immunity. In rats, IL-12α is involved in enhancing the production of IFNg and supporting the activation of natural killer cells, making it crucial for immune defense against intracellular pathogens.
