Target Information

Rat ADAM1 is a transmembrane metalloproteinase with conserved extracellular metalloprotease and disintegrin domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It is predominantly expressed in reproductive cell populations and engages in cell-surface protein cleavage and cell adhesion events. Its multi-domain membrane-anchored architecture and reproductive tissue-biased expression distinguish it from soluble circulating cytokines, cytoplasmic signal adaptors and chromatin-interacting nuclear transcriptional regulators with simplified single-domain assemblies and ubiquitous expression across general somatic tissues.
