Target Information

Mouse tyrosine kinase 2 (TYK2) is a cytoplasmic non-receptor tyrosine kinase of the Janus kinase (JAK) family, a core mediator of cytokine signaling. It features a conserved N-terminal FERM domain, a pseudokinase region, a C-terminal catalytic kinase domain, and cytokine receptor-binding motifs critical for structural integrity and signal transduction. It localizes to the cytoplasm of mouse immune cells, including lymphocytes and myeloid cells, with negligible levels in non-hematopoietic tissues. The protein mediates tyrosine phosphorylation and JAK-STAT pathway activation, with conserved motifs for ATP binding and substrate phosphorylation. Mouse TYK2 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct cytokine selectivity differentiating it from JAK1, JAK2 and JAK3.
