Target Information
Mouse transmembrane protein 173 (TMEM173) is a transmembrane signaling protein encoded by the Tmem173 gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 5. It belongs to the TMEM family, featuring conserved N-terminal caspase recruitment domains, a single transmembrane segment and a C-terminal domain critical for activation. It localizes to endoplasmic reticulum membrane, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in immune cells, lung and intestinal epithelium. The protein mediates intracellular signal transduction, with conserved motifs for oligomerization and downstream binding. Mouse TMEM173 shares core functional domains with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct activation characteristics differentiating it from other TMEM family members.
