Target Information
Mouse TIMP2 is a member of the tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase family. It regulates matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) activity by forming tight complexes with MMPs, thereby inhibiting their proteolytic activity. TIMP2 plays a key role in controlling extracellular matrix degradation and tissue remodeling. It is involved in processes such as cell proliferation, apoptosis, and angiogenesis. TIMP2 also interacts with the cell surface receptor annexin II, influencing cell signaling and matrix interactions.
