Target Information
Homovanillic acid is a 182-Da dopamine metabolite whose methoxy-hydroxyphenyl-acetate structure forms a stable hapten; a solvent-exposed 5-aa "KVE" motif (3-methoxy-4-hydroxy-phenylacetate) linked to carrier presents a fixation-stable epitope unique among catechol metabolites. Antibodies to this conjugate detect HVA in cerebrospinal fluid, urine and brain tissue, yielding crisp extracellular trails and single-band blots without cross-reaction to vanillylmandelic acid or dihydroxyphenylacetic acid.

This product is shipped with wet ice packs. Store at -20°C on receipt (up to 12 months). Avoid repeated freezing and thawing as this may denature the antibody.
