Specifications
Target Information
Mouse pyruvate dehydrogenase complex component X (PDHX) is a mitochondrial protein encoded by the Pdhx gene in Mus musculus, mapped to chromosome 17. It belongs to the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex family, featuring a conserved lipoyl-binding domain and a C-terminal catalytic region critical for complex assembly. It localizes exclusively to mitochondrial matrix, with ubiquitous expression in mouse tissues and enrichment in high-energy metabolic organs like heart, skeletal muscle and liver. The protein acts as a core structural and functional component of the complex, with conserved binding motifs for subunit interaction. Mouse PDHX shares high homology with mammalian orthologs, and has distinct structural features differentiating it from other pyruvate dehydrogenase complex subunits.
