Mouse MYBPC1 is a sarcomeric structural protein with conserved immunoglobulin and fibronectin-like repetitive domains that maintain stable protein conformation under physiological conditions. It concentrates within contractile compartments of slow-twitch skeletal muscle cell populations. Its myofibril-localized scaffolding architecture and muscle subtype-specific expression distinguish it from transmembrane receptors, soluble secreted signaling molecules and intranuclear transcriptional regulators with streamlined single-domain assemblies and static single-compartment subcellular localization profiles.
