Target Information

Mouse IgE is a class of antibodies that play a central role in allergic reactions and immune responses against parasites. It is produced by plasma cells and has a unique structure with two heavy chains and two light chains. IgE binds to high-affinity FcεRI receptors on mast cells and basophils, triggering the release of histamine and other inflammatory mediators upon allergen exposure. This antibody is also involved in the immune defense against helminth infections. IgE levels can be elevated in conditions such as allergies and parasitic infections.
