Target Information

Mouse BH3-interacting domain death agonist (Bid) is a pro-apoptotic protein involved in the regulation of cell death. It is a member of the Bcl-2 family and plays a crucial role in mediating apoptosis by interacting with other family members. Bid is activated by various death signals and cleaved to produce truncated Bid (tBid), which then translocates to the mitochondria. There, it promotes the release of cytochrome c, leading to the activation of caspases and apoptosis. Bid is expressed in multiple tissues and is essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis by regulating programmed cell death.
