Target Information

Forchlorfenuron is a synthetic cytokinin-like plant growth regulator widely used in agriculture to stimulate cell division, improve fruit size, and boost crop yields (commonly in kiwifruit, grapes, and melons). While its primary application is in horticulture, it can enter the animal-derived food chain as an environmental contaminant or via livestock consuming feed derived from treated crop byproducts. Regulatory bodies monitor its residues because excessive exposure or improper agricultural application can lead to trace accumulation in animal tissues, milk, and eggs, potentially posing low-level toxicological risks to consumers.
