Target Information

Dinotefuran is a third-generation neonicotinoid insecticide used widely to control sucking and chewing pests in crops and livestock facilities. It poses a risk to animal-derived food safety through the ingestion of treated feed crops or via environmental exposure in barns. Because neonicotinoids are highly water-soluble, residues can rapidly metabolize and transfer into animal tissues, milk, and eggs. Although it exhibits low acute mammalian toxicity compared to older pesticides, potential neurotoxic risks from chronic dietary exposure necessitate the enforcement of strict Maximum Residue Limits (MRLs) in animal products to ensure consumer food safety.
