Target Information
Bovine Monocyte Differentiation Antigen CD14 (CD14) is a crucial immune molecule expressed on monocytes and macrophages. CD14 plays a key role in innate immunity by recognizing and binding pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), such as lipopolysaccharide (LPS), thereby activating inflammatory responses. Additionally, CD14 is expressed in bovine mammary epithelial cells, where it modulates their response to LPS, enhancing pathogen recognition. In the bovine immune system, CD14 also regulates the differentiation and function of monocytes, promoting their conversion into tissue macrophages and dendritic cell precursors.
