Target Information
Vimentin is encoded by the VIM gene in pigs. Vimentin is expressed in mesenchymal cells and plays a crucial role in providing structural support and maintaining cell shape. Vimentin is a component of the cellular cytoskeleton and also plays an important role in the infection process of Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV), as the anti-vimentin mAb has been shown to block PRRSV infection.
