Target Information
Fibrinogen is crucial for blood clot formation (coagulation). Following vascular injury, fibrinogen is cleaved by thrombin to form fibrin, which is the most abundant component of blood clots. Bovine Fibrinogen gamma chain is encoded by the FGG gene in cattle. This gene maps to chromosome 17 in both cattle and sheep. FGG plays an essential role in blood clotting by facilitating platelet aggregation and interacting with main sites.
