The nasal mucosa covers the surface of the nasal cavity, with cartilage, bone, or skeletal muscle beneath it. Immortalization of ferret nasal mucosal epithelial cells was achieved through lentiviral transfection carrying the SV40 gene (these cells acquire puromycin resistance after transfection). Immortalized cells hold significant application value in fields such as disease research, drug screening, and tissue engineering.
