Target Information

Clostridium perfringens is a bacterium commonly responsible for food poisoning. Type B strains of Clostridium perfringens can cause a frequently fatal hemorrhagic dysentery in sheep and possibly other species. The bacterium proliferates in the intestinal tract of infected animals, where it produces the toxins that lead to the disease.
