Target Information

Staphylococcus hyicus is a Gram-positive, facultatively anaerobic bacterium belonging to the Staphylococcus genus. It is a component of the commensal flora in various animals and is mainly recognized as the pathogen responsible for exudative epidermitis in pigs. This disease is marked by skin exfoliation and the development of a thick, greasy, brown exudate.
