Target Information

Yersiniosis is a disease that impacts various animals, including cattle, pigs, goats, sheep, dogs, and cats. It can also infect wild animals, especially rodents and birds. Both domesticated and wild animals frequently harbor Yersinia bacteria in their intestines. Transmission to humans occurs through the consumption of food or water contaminated with feces from infected humans or animals. Pigs are considered a major reservoir for pathogenic Yersinia.
