Target Information

Borrelia is a genus of bacteria within the spirochete phylum. Several species in this genus are responsible for Lyme disease, also known as Lyme borreliosis, a zoonotic and vector-borne disease transmitted by ticks. Other Borrelia species cause relapsing fever, with transmission occurring via ticks or lice, depending on the specific bacterial species.
