Rickettsia gravesii is a newly identified species of Rickettsia, closely related to the human pathogen Rickettsia massiliae. "Rickettsia gravesii" seems to be prevalent in Western Australia and has been detected in tick species that typically inhabit macropods but are also known to bite humans.
