Target Information

Clostridium perfringens type D causes disease in sheep, goats, and other ruminants. It is responsible for Type D enterotoxemia, commonly known as overeating or pulpy kidney disease. Many adult sheep harbor strains of C. perfringens type D as part of their normal intestinal microflora, serving as the source of infection for newborns.
