Leifsonia aquatica is an aquatic bacterium commonly found in environmental water habitats. It is a non-spore-forming, Gram-positive rod. As a resident of these habitats, it has been isolated from sources such as distilled water, municipal water supplies, and private wells. Previously, L. aquatica was classified as a species within the Corynebacterium genus.
