Target Information

Enterococcus faecium is a Gram-positive bacterium, either gamma-hemolytic or non-hemolytic, belonging to the genus Enterococcus. It can exist as a commensal organism in the gastrointestinal tracts of humans and animals, serving as an innocuous coexisting organism. However, it also has the potential to be pathogenic, leading to diseases such as neonatal meningitis or endocarditis. Additionally, supplementing food with Enterococcus faecium can stimulate immune functions in animals.
