Actinomyces bovis is a branching, Gram-positive, rod-shaped bacterium belonging to the genus Actinomyces. It is known as the causative agent of lumpy jaw in cattle and can occasionally lead to actinomycosis infections in humans. Additionally, Actinomyces bovis has been occasionally identified in infections in horses, such as fistulous withers and poll evil.
