Peptostreptococcus is a genus of anaerobic, Gram-positive, non-spore-forming bacteria. These bacteria are small and spherical, and they can appear in short chains, pairs, or individually. Peptostreptococci have been isolated from humans and the feces of rats, mice, cats, dogs, monkeys, and rabbits.
