Target Information

Actinomyces viscosus is a pathogen or pathobiont that colonizes the mouths of 70% of adult humans and affects both humans and animals. With a low level of virulence, it is often confused with other actinomycetes. In dogs, A. viscosus can cause cutaneous actinomycosis, manifesting as localized subcutaneous abscesses.
