Target Information

Paeniclostridium sordellii is a rare anaerobic, Gram-positive, spore-forming rod with peritrichous flagella, capable of causing conditions such as pneumonia, endocarditis, arthritis, peritonitis, and myonecrosis. It produces two major toxins: the essential virulence factor lethal toxin (TcsL), found in all known virulent strains, and hemorrhagic toxin (TcsH), produced by some strains.
