Target Information

The genus Corynebacterium consists of pleomorphic, non-spore-forming, nonmotile Gram-positive rods. These species, which are found worldwide, are significant animal pathogens for sheep, goats, and horses, and occasionally act as zoonotic pathogens in humans. They are widely present in nature, forming part of the microbiota in animals (including humans) and primarily exist in commensal relationships with their hosts, rendering them mostly harmless.
