Target Information

Peptostreptococcus anaerobius is a Gram-positive anaerobic cocci (GPAC) bacterium known for its slow growth and non-spore-forming nature. Under suitable conditions, P. anaerobius acts as an opportunistic pathogen, leading to various deep organ abscesses and infections within the abdominal cavity and the female urogenital tract. This bacterium has been isolated from the feces of several animals, including rats, mice, cats, dogs, monkeys, and rabbits.
