Corynebacterium pseudodiphtheriticum, formerly known as Corynebacterium hofmannii, is a nonlipophilic, nonfermentative species that is both urease- and nitrate-positive. This species is part of the bacterial flora in the oropharynx and is a common component of the normal nasal microbiota.
