Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) poses a global threat as it is resistant to beta-lactam antibiotics and, in certain cases, other antibiotics as well. While MRSA primarily affects humans, it can also infect animals. It has been identified in a diverse array of animal species such as dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, cattle, pigs, poultry, and even some exotic species.
