Target Information

Among the viruses that infect penaeid shrimp, the monodon-type baculovirus (MBV), also known as Penaeus monodon singly enveloped nuclear polyhedrosis virus (PmSNPV), is one of the most widely reported and thoroughly described. This virus is rod-shaped, enveloped, and possesses double-stranded DNA. In addition to infecting penaeid shrimps, MBV has also been found in the freshwater prawn Macrobrachium rosenbergii.
