Target Information

Staphylococci are widely distributed in nature, naturally residing on the skin and mucous membranes of warm-blooded animals and humans. Staphylococcus saprophyticus is a common cause of urinary tract infections and is also a contaminant in food of animal origin. It is likely that S. saprophyticus has a zoonotic origin.
