Target Information

Koi Herpesvirus (KHV) is also known as Cyprinid herpesvirus 3 (CyHV-3). It is a part of the Herpesvirales order and the newly designated family Alloherpesviridae. The structure of CyHV-3 is characteristic of viruses within the Herpesvirales order, featuring an icosahedral capsid that encases the genome, which is a single, linear, double-stranded DNA molecule. This virus is an emerging pathogen causing fatal disease in both common and koi carp. TK is the gene that encode a hypothetical thymidine kinase in KHV.
