Target Information

Clostridium perfringens is a Gram-positive, spore-forming anaerobic bacterium typically found in the intestines of humans and animals. It is a common cause of food poisoning when consumed in large quantities. Infection of the small intestine by Clostridium perfringens Type C strains leads to a highly fatal, necrohemorrhagic enteritis, primarily affecting piglets and other young animals.
