Target Information

Borrelia miyamotoi is an emerging tick-borne pathogen in the Northern Hemisphere and causes Borrelia miyamotoi disease (BMD). It is transmitted by the same hard-bodied ticks that carry the Lyme disease Borrelia. However, phylogenetically, it aligns with relapsing fever Borrelia, leading to its distinctive classification as a hard tick-borne relapsing fever Borrelia.
