Target Information

Bartonella bacilliformis is a Gram-negative, aerobic, pleomorphic, flagellated, and motile coccobacillary bacterium, measuring 2-3 μm in length and 0.2-0.5 μm in width. It is a facultative intracellular bacterium and represents a rare infection transmitted by sand flies in certain areas of South America.
