Target Information

Streptococcus mitis is a species of Gram-positive, mesophilic, alpha-hemolytic bacteria within the Streptococcus genus. These facultative anaerobes consist of non-motile and non-sporing cocci (round cells) that are catalase-negative. As a commensal organism, it is commonly found in mouth, throat, and upper respiratory tract, forming part of the oral microbiota.
