Target Information

Streptococcus dysgalactiae comprises two primary subspecies: Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. dysgalactiae (SDSD) and Streptococcus dysgalactiae subsp. equisimilis (SDSE). Alongside Streptococcus dysgalactiae, Streptococcus canis, and Streptococcus pyogenes, SDSD and SDSE are prominent pathogens within the pyogenic group. Studies have shown that these species are closely related. SDSE commonly colonizes the pharynx, skin, gastrointestinal tract, and female genital tract, being a part of the normal human flora.
