Target Information

Necrotizing hepatopancreatitis (NHP) is a severe bacterial disease impacting penaeid shrimp aquaculture. It is caused by a gram-negative, pleomorphic, intracellular alpha-proteobacterium known as the NHP-bacterium (NHPB). It exists freely within the cytoplasm of infected hepatopancreatic cells.
