Target Information

Streptococcus alactolyticus, a non-motile Gram-positive bacterium, appears as catalase-negative cocci and belongs to group D Streptococci. It is part of the S. bovis complex, commonly found colonizing the digestive tracts of humans and various animals, including cows, goats, dogs, and poultry. While it is an extremely rare occurrence, S. alactolyticus can occasionally lead to infective endocarditis.
