Target Information

Staphylococcus intermedius is a coagulase-positive and zoonotic Staphylococcus species that can be isolated from animals such as dogs, pigeons, minks, cats, horses, foxes, raccoons, goats, and gray squirrels. It is hypothesized that S. intermedius has been previously misidentified as S. aureus in human infections resulting from dog bites.
