Mouse Renal Collecting Duct Cell Line-M1
Product Overview
Mouse renal collecting duct cell line M1 originated from the normal kidney tissue of tg(SV40E)Bri7 transgenic mice. They contain SV40 viral DNA sequences and retain certain characteristics of cortical collecting ducts, such as morphology and CCD (cortical collecting duct) antigens. Most M-1 cell clones exhibit features of either intercalated cells or principal cells from the cortical collecting duct; 5% to 10% of the cells show a dual phenotype of both intercalated and principal cells. When these cells are grown on a permeable support, they can form lumen-like structures with a negative transepithelial potential difference.

Target Information
These cells are transformed and stably express the large T-antigen of the simian virus 40 (SV40T antigens) to immortalize the cells and extend their lifespan.
