Target Information

Babesiosis is a parasitic infection resulting from hemotropic protozoa of the Babesia genus. Babesia gibsoni specifically targets dogs, leading to the rupture of their red blood cells. While natural tick-borne transmission of this disease does not occur in Europe, its incidence has increased in European countries in recent years.
