Rat Basophilic Leukemia Cell Line-RBL-2H3
Product Overview
Rat Basophilic Leukemia Cell Line-RBL-2H3 is a basophilic leukemia cell line isolated and cloned from basophils maintained in a tumor state in Wistar rats. These cells possess high-affinity IgE receptors. They can be activated to secrete histamine and other mediators by aggregating these receptors or by co-stimulating with calcium ionophores. This cell line is widely used to study the biochemical pathways of mast cell FcεRI and secretion. RBL-2H3 cells serve as a model for investigating FcεRI structure. They are extensively utilized to study various aspects of cellular secretion, including changes in intracellular calcium concentration, phospholipase activation, and the roles of protein kinases and small G proteins.
