Target Information

Porcine alpha-1-acid glycoprotein (a1AGP), also known as orosomucoid, is a highly glycosylated plasma protein primarily synthesized in the liver. It has a molecular weight of approximately 44 kDa and is characterized by its high sialic acid content, which contributes to its negative charge. a1AGP is a member of the lipocalin family and is known for its ability to bind small lipophilic molecules. In pigs, a1AGP is developmentally regulated, with high expression in the fetus and newborn, decreasing significantly in adults. This protein is unique in its role as a negative acute phase protein, contrasting with other species where it is typically a positive acute phase protein.

Target Porcine Alpha-1-Acid Glycoprotein
Target Synonym AGP1; a1-AGP; ORM1; OMD 1; Orosomucoid 1
