Chicken Lymphoma Cell Line-DT40
Product Overview
DT40 cells are a chicken bursal lymphocyte cell line established through induction by avian leukosis virus from Hyline SC chickens. The original lymphoma was obtained by infecting one-day-old chicks with Rous-associated virus 1 (RAV-1). Tumors formed in the bursa of Fabricius were prepared as a cell suspension and then intravenously injected into syngeneic recipient chicks. After a single in vivo transplantation, the DT40 cell line was established. This cell line exhibits a lymphoblastoid phenotype. Infectivity tests indicate that DT40 releases low levels of infectious RAV-1. This cell line can be used for stable transfection studies.
