Product Overview

BioVenic Bacillus cereus Cereulide B Gene (cesB) Probe-based qPCR Kit is designed for the real-time detection of Bacillus cereus Cereulide B Gene (cesB) in Biological samples using a Probe-based qPCR method. For research use only.

Specifications

Assay Type Probe-based qPCR
Specificity Bacillus cereus Cereulide B Gene (cesB)
Target Species Bacterium
Sample Requirement Biological samples

Target Information

Bacillus cereus is part of the B. cereus group of organisms and is known for producing toxins that cause two types of food poisoning: diarrhea and emesis. The emetic type of gastrointestinal illness caused by B. cereus is due to cereulide, a depsipeptide structurally similar to valinomycin. The cesB gene is a component of the ces gene cluster.
