Product Overview

Small Intestine Endocrine Cell Line-STC-1 was derived from intestinal tumor tissue of double-transgenic mice. These double-transgenic mice were generated by combining a fusion gene linking the rat insulin gene promoter with the polyoma virus small T antigen, and a gene linking the rat insulin gene with SV40. These mice typically develop both intestinal tumors and pancreatic beta-cell tumors. STC-1 cells produce the hormone secretin.
